a lady informing me of her husband’s
passing away
grief gripped our conversation
a deep sense of lostness I felt
not knowing how to react
and what to say
I plucked up courage to pray with her
Earlier on a tiff
between me and my daughter
over some small stuffs
I tried to sweat
Soon I received a message
from a WhatsApp group
asking me to pray
for peace in a dysfunctional family
Problems and issues abound suddenly
raining on me randomly
I wish I could predict their comings
not when I am less prepared
Are these problems more severe
than what Job faced
He lost all his sons and daughters
his sheep and goats
let alone his health
Will I mellow through trials
and transcend challenges
or wallow in billows of bitterness
I don’t know about tomorrow's
but I do know the Man of sorrows
My life problems He’s keen to know
He’s Son of God, who came
to sort out my sins and pain
When He returns in power
All the knees should bow
and every tongue confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord
A new song I’ll sing
together with His angelic choir
Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
