Two years ago, God instructed me to start a blog. This was never a goal of mine and it was an area where I had zero expertise. Philippians 4:13 took on an entirely new meaning.
I failed an English class the first semester of college and I didn’t do much better in the years that followed. Writing continued to be challenging and now God was calling me to start something completely outside of my skill set.
It’s one thing to do something I’ve already “dipped my toes into”, but it’s entirely different when I need to rely on God for something I’ve never wanted to or knew how to do.
I’m not a risk taker, but God is teaching me to be. Taking the plunge, this new adventure began in November 2016 when I launched www.teresaodden.com. My life changed and I was forever pushed into the vast world of the internet.
I quickly recognized the branding of a Christian blog has the same vision of any brand like Coke. Coke strives to sell their product and influence customers. They want to spread their products as far reaching as possible. It takes time and patience for a brand to make its way into people’s hands and homes.
Consumers will continue to buy an item if it’s reliable. I have the same goals. The difference with my product is that it isn’t tangible. My product is a person. Jesus. I can promote Him because I know Him personally.
The overall goal of my blog is to promote who God is, His reputation, and convey He’s not only reliable, but trustworthy. The Bible is the trademark, which establishes the characteristics of Christ. It’s the manual, confirming who Christ is and what He promises to do for the owner.
It doesn’t take long for people to begin sharing a product they love.
There are products that say, “one size fits all.” The same applies to Jesus. He’s One and came for all. Over time, tangible products wear out or a new fad takes its place. The message of Jesus never changes.
“For I, the LORD, do not change … “Malachi 3:6
The quality of Jesus is perfection.
The intent of this blog is to guide people to have a personal encounter with God and help them to have a Biblical understanding about dreams. Dreams are another opportunity Christians have to witness to people, especially those from eastern religions.
People are fascinated with the supernatural and desire to receive revelatory messages. Unfortunately, many are led astray seeking any kind of supernatural being.
Dreams are not only real and practical from a Biblical perspective, but can be a necessary part of a supernatural walk with God. Dreams are often prayer strategies to intercede on behalf of people and situations.
I don’t understand all of God’s ways, but I know He leads me into all Truth. He’s the hope and confidence I have to do His will.
According to Live Science, there were 1 billion internet sites in 2014. I could look at this and think “what’s the use,” or, I can approach it with zeal because I know God said to do it.
God makes 1 billion sites look like one star in the sky. I can see the stars even though there are billions of them in the universe. I can’t fathom God’s overall use of this blog. His ways are higher than mine and I know He has a plan. Isaiah 55:9. It’s humbling to know God wants to partner with me.
God has instilled a passion and calm that didn’t exist previously. The task is daunting, but, I can do all things through Christ who helps me fulfill His will.
My name may be what people search for, but when they get to the blog my prayer is seekers will recognize the “product” that’s being branded is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Overall, there are three components in One called the Trinity. It’s as though God is the organization, Jesus is the “purchased” item,” and the benefit is the usefulness of the Holy Spirit. God is God above all gods, He’s Savior, Redeemer, and Comforter. He’s One of a kind. His name is Jesus.
