In beauty Eden lay,
full fresh in ripened sweetness
of flesh soft fruit and blushing flower,
here in Adamís bower.

In beauty Eden lay
languid in manís morning,
golden in creationís molten glow.
Eden, in manís springtime,
breathes in ethereal dew
beneath cerulean hues.

In beauty Eden lay
with rivuletís rich flowing
by fragrant roses growing
in breezes hot with Heavenís whispered plan,
the eternity of man,
all pleasure in his hand.

Here Eden lay
in sun-kissed scents caressing fairest dawn.
Earthly Beauty, heretofore unknown,
has gilded verdant virtue
with everlasting song and promise pure
from Heavenís own.

In beauty Eden lay,
gift given from the Spirit as He stays
in garden sweet
and walks among the trees
as Adamís Friend,
where Beauty is at peace
in Edenís fair release
Ďtil one more gift is given.

In beauty Eden lay
in innocence before the fated day
when man shall choose
his way.

What a beautiful picture you have painted of Eden before the Fall. The images brought to life all that God created for man before he made that disobedient choice.

Wow! Beauty personified! Your pen is a paintbrush of color, light and pictures in motion - just beautiful.

A beautiful read of a talented writer's offering.

Beautiful, just marvelous! Clapping hands here!

Loved the way you used "In beauty Eden lay" for the beginning of every stanza except one. And the last stanza - ouch! Beautiful and powerful. Well done.
Anita Neuman11/17/05
Yes, that last stanza's got punch! Great job on this!!!
Laurie Glass11/17/05
Beautiful. Then sobering at the end. What a great reminder to us of what we are missing out on when we make bad choices.
Val Clark11/20/05
Beautiful expression of what might have been! And a foreshadowing of what is now. Sigh. Excellent work. yeggy
