With their murmurings, doubting and fears,
Despising His promise, neglecting His word
They wandered for forty long years
Despite His correction, they chose to transgress
Thus, their carcasses fell, by His hand,
For He swore in His wrath, they would never possess
Nor enter, that bountiful land
There remaineth a rest, to the people of God
Let us labour to enter therein,
For many a person has shipwrecked their faith
Through a conscience, corrupted by sin
This world is a spiritual wilderness, friend
Take heed, lest from God, you depart,
Falling short of His promise, at life's final end
Through an evil and sin hardened heart
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
Let us labour therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same expample of unbelief.
Paul's letter to the Hebrews chapters 3:12-14 and 4:11 (KJV)
