He was God.
He was no ordinary finite man.
He was God.
He was no puppet to chance and fickle fate.
He was God.
He knew the will of the Lord in Heaven.
He was God.
He did not have to bow to hate.

He was God.
He didn't have to let that scoundrel kiss Him.
He was God.
He did not have to walk that lonely road.
He was God.
He could have changed everything that happened.
He was God.
He didn't have to do what He was told.

He was God, yet He obeyed.
He could leave, and yet He stayed.
He walked the way to Calvary's hill.
He could have left, but stayed there still.

If He was God and He obeyed,
And I am but a creature made,
Then I'll go to Gethsemane
And also bend my knee,
Because Jesus Christ was God.

And He obeyed...
