One morning when I got up, I was feeling depressed. I felt as if the world was going round and round and that everything was against me. Several challenges are ahead of me. Life is going to be really tough, as it was in the past. Not much hope for a better tomorrow. A lot of such negative thoughts haunted me. I lost all hope and felt helpless. To add to this, it was also a time of bereavement, after the death of my father, who expired at the age of 64 after a prolonged kidney illness.
As I was walking in my garden, I noticed sunbeams falling on grass and wild flowers and their dance on that misty winter morning. As the grass and wild flowers sparkle, the sight of it was a refreshing view for me.
All my complaints and worries ran away, as this reminded me the call of prophet Isaiah, “ arise and shine like the sun; the glory of the Lord is shining on you”. (Isaiah 60:1)
It made my mind clear. All my negative thoughts disappeared when I realized that I have a long way to go and God expect me to be a light to others wherever I am placed!
God has entrusted a mission for all of us, to lighten the situations in which we are being placed.
