From out behind the kapok trees,
Come many personalities,
To overcome adversities.
Amazing Amazon Animals
Don’t mess with one so serious;
To taunt this king is treacherous.
His coat’s designed for royalty.
His stern look says don’t look at me.
This ruler reigns conceitedly.
Jeering Jungle Jaguar
Speeding through the canopy top,
These playful acrobats won’t stop.
Lianas wrap the cocoa tree
For circus stars to swing with glee;
These monkeys play consistently.
Silly Squirrel Monkeys
Don’t underestimate their size
As many foes met their demise.
A well-trained soldier colony,
Their victims die in agony.
Mean bugs who bite obnoxiously.
Angry Army Ants
He’s sneaky as a crook at work.
Beneath the murky creek he’ll lurk;
Blending with the logs around,
He’ll yank his prey and hold to drown.
He’ll even loom out on dry ground.
Cunning Caiman Crocodile
A head peeks out to scan the scene;
He wants to pluck some plant cuisine.
But scared to leave the riverbed,
He plans in fear to dunk his head.
Not face his foes, he’ll hide instead.
Tentative Timid Tapir
Serious, Silly, Sneaky, Scared
These creatures may live far away
But own my traits on any day.
Oh my! I think I need to pray.
