Be sure you are willing to follow!
Take responsibility seriously,
Not with effort that's hollow.
Have the welfare of others
Deep within your heart.
Make sure you're right with the Lord
Before you even start.
For, 'tis then, and only then,
Your service God will bless.
You'll know His peace and guidance,
Be free from fear and stress.
Strength He'll give for consistency
And wisdom for ev'ry choice.
Those you lead will listen
And not ignore your voice!
They'll willingly cooperate
And join you in your quest.
They'll strive to please in all they do,
To perform their very best!
But you must first an example be,
For if you stumble and fall,
God's will for them they may not see,
Or desire to answer His call.
Special ability God has given you,
Your talents are from His hand...
So let Him lead and work through you,
Obeying His ev'ry command.
Yes, as you learn to follow Him
And walk with Him each day,
You'll be able to lead your followers,
Faithfully showing the way.
Nothing is impossible --
No goal too high to attain!
If your leadership is blessed by God,
Your service will not be in vain!
