had to go. They were tore up and the elastic was gone from the sheet. I rolled up my sheets and filed them in file thirteen. I had owned these sheets since childhood. About five years old.
It was sad however, a gentle reminder that I'm no longer a child. I had to retire the tinker toys, weeble wabbles, and the metal wheel skates
that only helped me crack my skull. It was time to do away with the remnants of my childhood.
Then I cleaned out my other closet. The one God always looks in first for remnants of my childhood thinking as a Christian. Habits He condemns like
not reading the Word or praying. Oops! I didn't mean for God to find my secret sins either. Then God spoke
to me saying, " Don't you know by now I'll find you out?" It was time for me to retire the old thinking.
A sad, yet joyful occasion when I finally realize my new place in Him. A new creation. All things have passed away. New things have come. Until now they've all just been junked around in my life.
Sometimes our life is full of remnants of our childhood. It becomes important for us to retire the Mickey Mouse sheets.
