Suddenly aware that my car was going into a spin at the beginning of an “S” curve, I called on the only One who could get me out of it, and He answered. The car’s rear had slid to the left pulling the rest of it along aiming sidewise toward the first tree; my efforts to correct it weren’t working.
“Jesus!” All I had time for was a one-word reaction, but one Word was all that was needed. In seemingly slow motion, as hundreds of fearful thoughts raced through my mind, the front came around to the left, and I found myself on the second half of the “S” curve going in the right direction.
Amazed at the ease with which the car was righted, I breathed a prayer of thanksgiving. The rest of the way home, I remained focused both on the road and on the One who was in control.
