The gift of hospitality, will show others that we care.
When others feel they’re welcome to come into our home,
They’re blessed by our kindness wherever they may roam.
It’s not the lavish meal you cook, entertaining in your house,
But to share your life with others, though humble as a mouse.
It’s taking time to spend with those, whom Jesus draws to you,
To demonstrate the love He gives and hear their point to view.
Though fancy trimmings may be nice, do not seek to impress,
Martha spent her life in striving, her life was full of stress,
For Jesus taught her, Mary knew the secret that she sought,
To spend the time in fellowship is one which can’t be bought.
When others find they’re wanted and know you understand,
It draws them closer to God’s throne when life gets out of hand.
Show compassion when it’s needed, is a gift that you can give
Teaching there is hope for them, by the way you daily live.
The thing that will impact their life is not the food you cook,
It’s showing them you honor them, not living by the book.
For Duty says. “I must do this.” Love goes the extra mile.
Makes others feel you care for them, to show they are worthwhile.
Maybe there will come a day when a stranger shelters there,
It may well be an angel whom you have shown such care.
For in as much as you do to others, you do unto our Lord,
Examples are shown to us, throughout His Holy Word.
So take the time to demonstrate, hospitality in your home,
To those who are around you so they’ll know they are not alone.
As you reach out a helping hand in obedience to His love.
God will bless the gift you share with blessings from above.
