cannot be undone,
it can cause great stress
and result in a mess.
Many a wise saying
has been said in jest,
inadvertently said,
along with the rest.
A blooper is caused
by the slip of the tongue,
getting words mixed up,
it can happen to anyone.
What I meant to say was
is not an excuse,
for loose gossip,
it won't fool a goose.
Careless speech costs lives,
a war-time slogan ran,
letters were censored
so the enemy didn't know our plan.
A Spoonerism was a speech mix-up
attributed to one man,
who got his words mixed up
and caused hilarity for a span.
How much good. or how much hurt
can be caused by inappropriate speech,
we must be careful what we say,
and not cause harm in any way.
So let your speech be seasoned with salt
helping others and not slip in
the inappropriate word that
causes more harm than good.

Interesting how your used uncommon words.
I have a question because I am just leaning about the use of your commas, they are not consistent.
You used a period in the middle of the fist line in the verse second from the bottom.
The message was right on target. I enjoyed it.
I felt that your poem lacked a consistent focus, since it covered both innocent slips of the tongue and more harmful ones. Also, the irregular meter interfered with the flow.
This had a homey, folksy feel that is appealing to readers.
