of all things sweet,
fairy floss on a stick
chidren love to eat.
Sweeter than honey
on a honeycomb
Soloman called his
sweetheart.
Sugar is a diet problem
causing illness now
for too much in food can
end in diabetic low.
I worked on a sweet stall
at the local church fete.
I tried many recipes
but too much of them I ate.
A land flowing with
milk and honey, the
Israelites were promised,
but had to win it.
Kind words are like honey
enjoyable and heartfelt,
so let us speak to others
in words that help and heal.
Honey lips speak flattery
but bitter is the taste;
it leads to disenchantment
and a life that is a waste.
God's word is like honey
both sweet and sour
gives life to believers
and a warning to others now.

Sugar and honey seemed to be synonyms.

Keep writing in poetic form if that is what you are drawn to. I feel it is somewhat more difficult to master than prose.
The rest of your piece reminded me of "proverbs" a lot of wisdom and insight.
