Those unseen enemies, of not only our soul but also our body, are constantly at work. There is good reason why Jesus spoke of, "the evil being" as Destroyer.
The message those enemies of ours hope that we as human beings never learn, is that they design and create situations and manipulate us with lying suggestions.
Their gig is done when we learn that we will not, in fact, die if we do not satisfy a forbidden desire! I Cor. 10:13
The Scriptures tell us that "No man has resisted temptation to the point of death!" That is the truth. We will not die if we resist. We are promoting death if we indulge.
We are disadvantaged by our natural tendency to agree with evil desires; we are encouraged by the unseen personality that we are within our right and "of course we must have this experience and do no put it off; do it now!"
At these times it is good for us to know that we can yell out that we, "plede the blood of Jesus" against the evil desire and it will not be long before the clutch of evil has dissipated. They do not stand a chance in the presence of the Blood of Jesus. Rev 12:11
God gave us boundaries to help us when our emotions and desires are weighted by the enemy and our own errant nature. The Rules, the Laws of Scripture and the Holy Spirit of God are also, at the same time, working in and around us advising us to make the godly choice. Matt. 26:41
So, to us all it can be said, "It's on you, baby, you can have it your way!"
The question is: "Will God's Way be Your Way?
"Two Wagons of Will I've got,
one named "I Will,"
one named "I Will Not."
It's up to me to decide
in which Wagon of Will
my will, will ride!
So, in the end of the matter, we are guilty of indulging in sins, or not guilty of indulging in sins; because no matter how we slice it, we chose it.
In the face of temptation, we said, "Yes" or we said, "No."
But the good news is that if we get tripped up and ride in the wrong Wagon, God will forgive us when we ask it of Him; only we must remember that Jesus often said, "Just go and sin no more." John 5:14, John 8:11
Repent means "quit it."
