I like picnics and the long days.
I like the heat and flowers galore
But there is still one season I like more.
I am quite fond of the fall
Yes, I am a fond fan of football.
I am fond of fall colors and the smells.
But I am fond of another season that excels.
I tolerate winter, I cannot not lie.
I tolerate the snow and I know why.
I tolerate the cold, and having them,
I tolerate it all because in the end--
Winter gives way to something new.
Everything looks fresh with a different hue.
The new blades of grass pushing thru
Buds on trees and the bushes too.
Always think I have another chance,
To make it better in this life’s dance.
Things that got left undone or unsaid,
Time to set right or let them shed.
That’s why I love spring!
I love the expectation of the thing.
I love the birds singing their song.
Give me spring all year long!
