Soon she was back at the house for breakfast. As I put down her bowl of food, I saw her flop her right ear back and forth. Finally, she took her paw and tugged at the ear. I tried to grab her ear and exam it. She whimpered and ran off. Soon she was back for a few more bites. Again, I tried to check her ear. She bolted away from me and dashed under a chair. With a few dog treats in my hand, I convinced her to come out.
As I gave her a treat, I patted her head and gently ran my hand through her black wavy hair. As I moved my hand through the hair on the right ear, I discovered a blood sucking tick. I reached into the cabinet for my tweezers. I gave her another treat and grabbed her ear. With several tries, I plucked out the nasty tick. She licked my face as if to say, "Thanks, I appreciate that!" I applied some antibiotic cream and gave her another dog biscuit. Soon we bounced out the door on the track of another rabbit. Daisy didn't enjoy the process of eliminating the tick but she did appreciate the final results.
