Have you ever had days that started out just a little crazy, and as your work week progressed you wondered if the circus had come to town and no one told you.

Monday morning I was upstairs getting dressed for work when I heard this horrible bone chilling scream from my wife in the kitchen. I grabbed my pants, and while putting them on I fell into the vanity knocking my wife’s makeup all over the bedroom floor. I ran down the stairs, tripping over Muffin, our cat, scaring her and she jumped up latching onto my leg claws fully extended as I ran towards the kitchen.

My wife was standing on the kitchen table looking at the Tarantula Ben had brought home from school. I picked the spider up put it back in the aquarium while trying to get Muffin off my aching leg. Angie got off the table her eyes big as saucers watching as I slowly pulled Muffin free while grimacing in pain. I hobbled back upstairs took off my trousers got peroxide, a cotton ball and cleaned my leg. I put on another pair of trousers picked up Angie’s makeup setting it on the vanity. I slowly went back downstairs got my coffee, kissed Angie and Ben good bye limped to my car, and drove to the office. What a way to start the week.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday came and went with no incidents of which I thanked God after the Monday Angie and I had.

Thursday evening after enjoying supper we cleaned up the kitchen turned on the dishwasher, and I went into the living room to watch the news while Angie put Ben to bed. I turned to see Angie enter the living room yawning and stretching when all of a sudden her bottom partial plate popped loose, and flew across the room landing on the floor. Lady, our dog, jumped up intent on getting whatever hit the floor. Angie hollered at Lady telling her no all the while running after her teeth grabbing them before Lady got them.

Friday came and went quietly. Saturday was a perfect day to do a little yard work, and the three of us went outside. I was mowing the lawn while Ben and Angie worked weeding the flowers, and Muffin was sitting in our driveway preening herself when all of a sudden our neighbors Saint Bernard spied Muffin. He ran after Muffin all set to cause harm to the cat. Muffin sat with her back towards the dog when all of a sudden the dog realized Muffin wasn’t moving. The dog came to a screeching halt with his nose down, and Muffin slowly turned clawing him across the nose. I’ve never seen a Saint Bernard turn and run so fast out of the yard and up the street in my life. His hind legs were up around his ears as he made a mad dash to his yard. Muffin sat nice as you please still preening herself as if nothing had happened. That incident was the frosting on the cake of the week that was.

Sunday was our day to attend church and thank God for all our blessings. Angie and I humbly asked God for a calm, quiet life after the wild week that had just passed.

Monday came, and our son returned the spider to school which made Angie happy since she despises spiders. Monday evening we put Ben to bed, and we sat in the living room talking about the previous week. I showed Angie my leg where Muffin had latched on with her claws. The only thing left was the little round marks where her claws had been, and Angie mentioned about her partial plate popping out and flying across the living room, and Lady’s reactions, and the look of total shock on her face. We sat there looking at each other and burst into peals of laugher.

After the news Angie and I slowly made our way upstairs to bed still chuckling at the comedy of errors that had transpired last week. We have learned the best way to handle crazy situations like that was go with the flow and let it go. Our life is never boring and thanks to God we always come through better then before all the while learning from each new situation that rears its head and trusting Him to bring us safely through to the other side.
