Went home to the Lord this week
I choose to believe
Although she left in her sleep
That in a twinkling of an eye
Any unfinished business that was awry
God’s sweet Spirit made one last try.
At least that’s what I choose to believe
There was none kinder than my friend
She always had a smile and a hand to lend
Never early but always the last to go
Always helping never taking a “no”
She embodied what a lot of us need today
Not so much by what we say
But how we treat one another
And help along the way
I now say “bon voyage” to my friend
You were truly a Godsend
I envision her now trying to give assist
To the angels, not allowing them to resist
I pray that she knows without defeat
That her work here was complete
That her living made a difference to us
This is what I chose to believe
