how grateful I’ve been
that you are the father
of our children…
…how moved I’ve been
when I’ve seen your tears
at the birth of every child.
…how thankful I’ve been
when you’ve come home each night
to the waiting arms of our children.
… how happy I’ve been
to watch you play with our kids
as they scream with excitement, “Daddy!”
…how contented I’ve been
when I’ve laid in your arms
while our precious blessings are sleeping.
… how blessed I’ve been
as I’ve watched you become
a man after our Father’s Heart.
… and how in love I fall
when I look in your eyes
and see everything I’ve ever wanted…
in the man they call “father”.
