For winter's song
When snow
Lies softly
Upon the ground --
The stillness
Of the cold white
Gives one time
To ponder
In the absence
Of rushing sound...
Winter's song
Finds expression
When rain
Falls as jewels
Across the icy land --
It is then
That one lingers
In silent meditation
And comes
To understand --
Understand
That winter's song
Comes gently
With the hush
Of cold
And presents
The opportunity
For the birth
Of wisdom
From one's youth
To years
Of being old...
Winter's song
Finds its birth
When cold
Descends upon
Mother earth --
Icy days and nights
After falling leaves
Will return
Once again
With winter's breeze...
Then we will remember
The lyrics of the cold
And respite
Of icy days --
And we learn
To cherish
The melody
That in our heart
Forever stays...
It is in the music
Of the soul
That we will find
That winter's song
Held a soulish flavor
That is far from
Bittersweet --
And in the warmth
Within the cold
We find that
We desire
Winter's song
To repeat...
