He knows it all.
So this means He knows what my teenage son did last weekend. And He sees how my husband acts. He hears how I talk. Oh my, ashamed but forgiven.
I had a girlfriend whose wise mother told her to always picture Jesus with you. That way you might be more inclined to think about your words and actions, knowing He was sitting next to you.
I have tried this on my kids. I hope they listened, considering I don’t always practice what I preach. Our family home is quite often in turmoil. It is just the way things go.
I have realized how much God loves and blesses us even though. We are the place were people come. Take tonight for example. Our daughter’s senior prom and the kids and parents were at our family home. Or a few nights ago, our widowed neighbor talking with us and sharing stories. My husband “the jerk” and my sons “the bums” are always helping her and doing for the neighbors.
Then there was the 31 to 0 softball game on Saturday, prayers answered. My daughter, the “drama queen”, the pitcher and possibly the best player, got very little back up. In the third inning the opposing team had gone through their line up twice. As the third time through was proceeding with the same results, errors and such, I looked at my sweet girl, running on empty.
This was the last game she would play for the year. She had already covered both outs, they needed one more. Little did I know that she too was in prayer? The ball was hit straight to her, over to first and the final out was accomplished.
Later I heard her tell a friend how she and her mom were praying. So there you have it the family home outside the house. This I realized is what God wants. The participants showing others, a family and a home that God leads, even when we don’t always follow.
