TITLE KEEP STRIVING FOR HAPPINESS
The word GREAT always brings music to the ear. Compliments from supervisors, teachers, parents and peers include such phrases as “You are great, great job, great idea, etc.” Even the weatherman repeats, ”Its going to be a great day, have a great weekend.”
A hymn writer has written “O Lord My God----how great Thou art,”
As I ponder on these words I ask myself ,”What is the message that is being transmitted by the word GREAT?”
What does the listener or reader decode when the above is repeated?
From past experiences each one has some idea, a job well done is worthy of praise. Children are labeled as great when they bring home good reports from school. Everyone strives to do better in order to be happy. In the job market when the remark is “You are doing a great job,” one is motivated to do better and better.
A new day always follows the night and it’s another opportunity to improve our skills and do better and achieve the best possible. So whatever has happened is history let the future be great because you made it happen.
Thank God, this is a Land of Freedom, where the Bible is an open book.
Every opportunity should be used to know our Great God and Creator.
Parents, teachers, the church and the community need to nurture children in a God- fearing disciplined way so that all of them will become, “Great Citizens,”
The study of God’s Word will enable us to know God and what He has provided for man. The scriptures teach us our responsibilities, how to be patient, loving, kind, joyful, and a host of other things that will bring true happiness. There is joy in serving our Master and Lord. In times of sorrow, sickness or pain we have an anchor that keeps us above the waters.
Men will praise you for a short time but only the Lord Jesus can compliment you for eternity. Do you want to hear Him say to you: “Well done, GREAT”
Keep your focus on eternity and God bless you.
