"Judge not, lest ye be judged..." is an oft quoted verse from the Bible by Christians and non-believers alike. It is, like most things easier said than done. It is far more difficult not to judge. Take your everyday life for example. Unless you have been given a spiritual gift and have embraced it fully, you have people in your life that you like, love, and dislike. Each separation of these catagories is a judgement, whether it is based upon an assumption, a feeling, history, or any other reason. You choose to give feelings to each person based on a form of judgement. Favoritism is a form of judgement. Like other forms of judgement, it comes in many disguises. The average person thinks of favoritism as gifts or special treatment given to someome because of a better relationship, better looks, etc. Showing favoritism is prevalent in all walks of this world (school, work, and even churches). To show favortism is usually assumed to find a favorable judgement about another person. "Oh, He smiles every day so I'm going to let him go home early everyday...", most people can fill in a blank to use an example of favoritism. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of favoritism. He loves us all, the sinner, the saint, the prostitute, the lawyers, the tax collector, the pastor, the choir, the Muslim, the Budhist, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Jesus' love encompasses each and every soul that has existed, will exist, and that currently exists. He favors us all.
