We sometimes lose our way because we have allowed ourselves to be hurt, put down, and used by others. Those we love and so-called friends seem to just take advantage of you because of the relationship that we have. Some times we allow ourselves to continue to be hurt, and then we get angry, bitter, vengeful and spiteful. So you ask now what do we do?
I want to say from experience that you keep pressing on. Let the Lord heal your hurt and mend the broke places. Now, we have to be willing let go of the broken pieces in order to let a gorgeous stain glass window be created out those things. Don’t let hurt and pain become your passion and what you use to sustain you. Because that is what steals our hopes and dreams. We allow it to become our security blanket because it is safe.
In life we are going to experience disappointments. It is what we do in those times and with those disappointments that makes us who we are and determines what we will become. Will be better or bitter? Live or die? Will you be broke, busted, or disgusted with life because you don’t want to hurt anymore? You determine how this will fit in to being molded and shaped by God. Some things are meant to change the course we are headed down. Sometimes it is to build our faith. And most importantly it is to build our trust in God.
If we never go thorough anything then we cannot remember what the good times feel like and how it felt to get there. Perfect example if a child gets every thing they want they do not truly appreciate the object(s) of their desire; it is only when they have to work for, earn or take some responsibility for it that they see the value of what they wanted. Also because it took a lot to get it they take care of it.
If God gave us everything our heart desired then we would jump from one thing to the next and waste what we have been given. Only when we have to work for it or have to go through some trials and tribulations do we appreciate it. Joseph would never have appreciated the position he was given if he had not had to wait, had not been sold into slavery, lied on and imprisoned. Paul could not truly love the Lord if he had not been converted and then made to suffer persecution. Now hear me I am not saying that we always have to suffer or wait. We just have to know in those times that we do suffer, or get hurt we have not been forgotten. When that person you trusted yet again hurts you do not loose heart and give up because we are not in a battle against that person we are battling against the devil and all of his friends (see Ephesians 6:10-18). Get up from your pity party and start living life despite what is happening to you and let the Lord worry about the rest.
Don’t give up because as soon as you do that is when the breakthrough comes. “Do not grow weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9 and see II Thessalonians 3:13).” Going from having a job to not having a job has been a real test of my hope and faith. I am still trusting though that God has not left me alone. Nor will he desert me. I keep standing on the fact that he is Jehovah Jireh my provider.
No matter how something seems or how many times we have to go through it we shall rise above the hurt and the pain if we refuse to give up. If we stand and fight the good fight, finish the race, and KEEP THE FAITH. Don’t give up change is on the way.
