It was a beautiful day. It was about two past noon and around 80 degrees with a light breeze. You couldn’t have asked for a better day. Jesus was with the disciples and said to them, “Let’s go across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.”

About 200 yards into their journey dark clouds started rolling in. And I don’t mean the clouds were moving fast across the sky, I mean they were actually rolling. Thick black clouds with lightning flashing through them. Thunderous clouds that covered the sun and turned the whole landscape grey.

Suddenly the winds picked up and the waters became very rough. So rough that it capsized the boat. Everyone on board was now in the water. Luckily the waters were still shallow enough for them to stand in. With that they were able to get the boat right side up again. Once they did this the waters immediately calmed and the waters also became very warm.

All of a sudden there was movement in the water and it began to splash all around them. Seconds later a school of Tilapia circled each one of them. The fins on their backs were sticking straight up like spikes and their scales looked like little rusty razors.

They had bright orange eyes and they were laughing and spitting at the brothers while they were trying to get back into the boat. Jesus then turned to them and said, “It looks like the Father has an interesting day planned for us.”

Wide eyed and still a little shaken the crew finally made it across to the other side. When Jesus got out of the boat a crazy man with bloody arms and screaming came running down the hill to see him.

The man looked at Jesus and said, “They have been trying to contain me by chaining my hands and feet, but I keep breaking free. Now I just spend all day and night up in the hills in the tombs cutting myself with stones.”

Then he fell on his knees and shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me!”

Jesus then said to him, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit!” Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

“My name is Legion,” he replied, “For we are many.” And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

Off in the distance there was a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus, “Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.”

Jesus gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number began squealing. It was so loud it pierced your ears and made your teeth hurt. The pigs began to head butt and jump over each other.

Then the pigs, all two thousand of them made a straight line along the hillside. There was this larger pig in the center of them and it made this screeching sound and all the pigs started rushing along side of each other down the hill. Racing down the steep bank and into the lake we thought that they all drowned. To our surprise that wasn’t the case, not yet anyway.

The pigs popped their heads out of the water and were now in five large circles, individually spinning while swimming in circles. The pigs then flipped and just their feet and tails were above the water. They started to do leg splits and bobbing up and down in the lake. Their tails were all spinning during all this and smoke was coming out of the ends of their tails.

Then the pigs still dancing in the water formed one large circle and then that fat pig that seems to be the leader shoots up out of the water and is hovering over them in the middle of the circle. The smoke coming from their tails is now spinning around that pig and creates a smoke like cocoon.

The pig and cocoon began to glow and then explodes. Fire rained down over the other pigs and engulfed the whole lake. All at once the fire was gone, the storms were gone, and the pigs were gone. Jesus looks at the disciples and smiles. They all got back into the boat and headed back home.
