A locked heart has lost its trust. Its on guard against invaders.
Locks do not keep us safe. A determined thief could pick any lock.
Vaults, safes, houses are locked securely but for every physical lock there is an expert locksmith.. and a key maker who makes keys that can open any door.
We feel safer when we turn the keys in our front doors.
Wait, have you locked the back doors and the side doors too?
What of the internal doors?
I am speaking about the door into our souls in which dwells our `heart'. When we lock up our hearts we cease to love, trust or to be joyful, to be kind or to be a good friend.
There is a deep mystery. Why would we lock up our heart?
We lock our hearts so that we will be safe and not be hurt anymore.
I believe there are `lock creators'.
First we begin with the chief lock craftsman; he is our enemy.
His tools are pain, abuse, abandonment, sin, poverty, fear, and suffering.
So now the big question; how can we unlock our hearts so that we can love again?
There is One who releases souls and hearts that are on lock-down. No surprises here! His Name is Jesus Messiah, the Anointed One and the key he uses is Himself. What a locksmith!
He earned the right to use this `key' when he came to earth.
From a heavenly Kingdom where he lived with Father Yahweh, he clothed himself in frail humanity so that he could identify with us, live with us, help, heal and teach us how to love. That is Agape love.
John 3:16
For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
As a Jewish young man he lived in the home of a humble carpenter father. He grew up to be a local teacher, healer and leader of men and women. He only did good but he suffered a `long- prophesied' and cruel death on a cross. This death was so symbolic that it rocked creation and the world has never been the same. Hope was reborn. He restored and ransomed God's people and His creation from the dominion of evil.
Genesis 1:16
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
His Kingdom is here "on earth as it is in heaven" he said this in Matthew [6:10]. We now have freedom. We belong to Him. Spirit, soul and body have been and can be set free from the `lock creators'.
If you know anyone who is in lock-down tell them or show them Jesus and Father Yahweh. No human has ever or can ever love like that. In His Kingdom we do not lock our hearts. We are `kingdomites' and we are free in Christ to love not only Him, but also the unlovely, the unloved and the `unlovable'. So the command is let us go out and show God's love to the world that we live in. As James says to us
'if ye fulfill the Royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:'
