Seth had called her. He could not sleep and something was bothering him, he needed to talk. Blythe could not think for the life of her what the problem could be.
A smile appeared on Blythe’s face when the green mustang turned into the drive way pulling up to her red ford focus. The car engine turned off and the two were staring at each other through rain distorted glass for a few minutes.
“What is he thinking about? “Blythe wondered,
“Is it something bad?” She watched as he tilted his head down.
” It must be bad”, she muttered, feeling a little sad for him.
The car door opened and Seth pulled himself out and jogged to the front door. Blythe gets up, feeling worried she opened the door.
“Are you all right?” Blythe sounded concern. Closing the door behind Seth, she follows him from the door way.Taking his shoes off Seth walks to the couch and with Blythe at his side he sits with her. He gazed into her sky blue eyes, touches her soft brown hair, caressing her cheek with the back of his fingers.
“I don’t know” replied Seth,
“I have been thinking about my future” he paused, “I just got a job offer in Vancouver”
“That’s great!” Blythe cheered, knowing he was waiting for this a long time
“No! You don’t under stand” Seth grew frantic, “I can’t… “He paused. Looking deeper into her blue eyes, his own eyes became teary “I just can’t go” he hesitates.
“Why not Seth?” Blythe questioned with a note of quiver. Her own eye’s feeling the emotion. A lump formed in her throat.
“For a long time I’ve tried to think about moving and living some were other than here, even doing different jobs, traveling, maybe join the military, but I can’t seem to get past…”he choked again.
“I can’t seem to think about doing anything… with out you being part of it” Seth finally breathed it out.
“I do not want the job in Vancouver unless you come with me”. There was silence.
Blythe became speechless. Tears trickled like the rain on the window down her face. Her heart started to pound and she trembled, quivering weak at the knees. She had no idea this was coming.
Seth got on one knee, took her hand into his, peered into her sky blue tearing eyes, and spoke.
“I promise to do the best for you, I will never let anyone hurt you, I will support you in everything you do, you are everything to me, Blythe… will you marry me?”Silence.
In this moment, time stood still. Two lives hung in the air weighting for a direction, a choice that will forever change their future, it was up to Blythe. Secretly she dreaming of this day. She had no idea Seth felt the same way she did about him. How do I love thee…a simple quote passed her mind.
“With all my heart” Blythe answered.
