Watching the news is depressing and reading the evening paper always prove to be disappointing.
But today I was reminded that there is hope.
I picked up a book that's been on my nightstand for a while. I haven't read it in quite some time.
As I opened the book I began to read about a man. He was like no ordinary man.
His sole purpose on earth was to save souls.
Sounds unreal? I thought so too.
As I continued reading, I remembered how this man of love, peace and kindness was talked about.
He was ridiculed, tortured and even sentenced to death by the people He was sent there to save.
And do you know what this man did?
Instead of spreading rumors about His enemies, plotting revenge or having a get them before they get me attitude, this man began to pray.
When they took this man and nailed Him to the cross, then left Him there to die, not an unkind word was uttered from His mouth.
Until His last breath this extraordinary man was still saving souls, even the souls of the people who placed Him on the cross.
As I read this book tears ran down my face.
Here was a man that had gone through hatred, pain beyond belief and humiliation.
And even in the face of death He looked upon His Heavenly Father and asked that they be forgiven, for they know not what they do.
I cried.
If the world would live by this man's example.
To forgive, love your fellow man instead of hate.
To learn to accept and respect one another differences, to come together as one and live as this man did.
What a beautiful and peaceful place this world could be.
PS. By the way, the man is JESUS CHRIST, His Father, JEHOVAH GOD and the book, The Holy Bible.
A must read:)
