TITLE SON, I HOPE YOU DID NOT GET HURT.
Once upon a time there was a teenager who rebelled against his parents and left home like the prodigal son. He got himself into a lot of problems. He came home several months later with his new found girlfriend and insisted on living with his parents. There was increasing number of embarrassing situations due to the hostile reactions of the youngsters. The mother was always very patient and forgiving. She kept sharing God’s love and grace with them whenever she got an opportunity. As the months passed the son and girl friend began to drift apart, she was always complaining about his mother. Finally one day she told him, “If you really love me then prove it, kill your mother and bring me her heart.” The son was taken aback hearing her request. His emotions ran wild, how could he do this to his Mom? But he was madly in love and wanted to have his friend for life. Confused as he was, he walked around the house and even went to the field nearby for a few hours.
He came home and refused to eat saying that he was sick. He watched his Mom clean up after lunch. She made two cups of coffee, before sitting with Dad to enjoy a TV show. Someone came to the door needing help and Dad offered to do what he could. The son picked up the kitchen knife and left it in the yard near a big stone. In the pretense of showing her something, he led his mother outside, stabbed her and took out her heart. He placed the bleeding heart in the palm of his hand and was running to his girl friend when he tripped on a stone and fell down. Legend has it, that the heart of the mother spoke, ”Son, I hope you did not get hurt.” Wow, what a mother? What is your reaction to mother’s words?
The arrival of children into a family makes us parents. Parenthood is a privilege given to us by God and we need to be accountable to Him for our actions. Innumerable are the stories written about the love of parents and their unconditional love for their offspring.
“A family that prays together will always stay together.”
In the context of our modern culture how practical is this statement? Do we as parents, have the priority in our homes to pray with our children and to teach them God’s word. Is that the responsibility of the Sunday School and Church? As parents we always encourage and motivate our children to excel in school, college and the work place. How much effort do we put in to inspire them to be like Jesus. I am able to understand to a small degree, my Heavenly Father’s love because my father loved me unconditionally. Mother was always there to love and care for us through joy and sorrow. Parents teach more by example than words. The story of the Jungle Boy should help us to see how children imitate us and learn behaviors from us. May each one of us be godly parents who raise up children for the glory of His Name.

Some good points here, but I'd recommend making only one of them. The problem is that in an article of this brevity (that 750 word limit), it's hard to communicate more than one point without clouding things a bit. Keep writing, becasue you've got good stuff to say.
