Many humans had thought that there were seven samurai who guarded the gates of paradise. No, it was only he moving at the speed of light to those humans foolish enough to attempt to return to the garden. Though fewer and fewer attempted as the centuries rolled by, every so often a human would be looking for some City of Gold or Shangrala and stumble across the Garden.
His halo was a large Asian pineapple hat of gold to keep the loving sun from his eyes should he have to go to battle. His skin was bronzed well from his several millennia in this garden, his eyes a piercing gold. His hair was a shade of fire which had been forgotten since the days of the beginning; radiant and unique.
And there was that sword.
Though nameless to give glory to God and not the skill endowed to him from Him, his divine peers spoke in fear of God of him as 'The Cherubim with the Sword'.
Today he rested himself at the base of the tree; a kimono of reds, browns, and various golds graced his body, the back open to permit his wings to easily allow flight in a hurry. They had embroidered gold threads of leaves and fire. Satan decided to mull over his previous deviousness. Eden was a place on Earth, and Satan himself was never exiled from the Garden. The Fallen One's kimono a pitch black silk with reds and purples embroidered with snakes and peacocks. His fan was even of black peacock feathers, fanning himself nonchalantly as he took a bite from a fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. His precious pet slithered across his neck and spoke once again on behalf of his master.
"Isssss it not sssssso peaceful here without the presssssence of man?" the serpent spoke. "Ssssssso quiet, ssssssssso calm? I have done ssssssuch a sssssservice to this placccccce."
The swordsman never answered, appearing to ignore him completely as he gazed into the distance.
"I musssssssst have... why would God permit me to dwell here instead of kill me as you ssssssso desssssired?"
His eyes which saw into the souls of man to find their weakness saw no movement...
His ears which took delight in their screams of torment heard no sound...
His nose did not even smell the stench of embers which would have come from a sword of fire...
But the head of his serpent fell to the ground. His precious obsidian locks braided into many twists and turns and adorned with rubies started to fall to the ground, leaving only a slightly singed twist near his head. The fruit which he ate was sliced in two in his grasp and started to turn to ash. The wind picked up and the tips of every feather upon his plumage, including his fan, blew away into the vastness of the garden. All six of his black wings had each and every feather lose its tips with the precision of a surgeon. It almost appeared to snow in black flakes around the tree... as even the tips which blew away in the wind were splitting away into several pieces of fluff.
And there the swordsman remained in his seated position all along, the only hint that he had moved was his index and his middle finger on the hilt of his sheathed blade. Satan's eyes widened in an absolute terror as he gazed as this mere Cherubim before him. He merely tilted his head up to the Fallen One before speaking.
"You have been denied God's mercy." the swordsman replied. "The Children of God... they are your predator, if they would only wield the Sword of God."
