And he said to them, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23 KJV

It is so easy to get caught up in the cares of this world that we forget to follow the Lord’s command to take up our cross daily.

We become busy with our everyday lives and our involvement in church with its activities that these things can sometimes stand in the way of our cross.

To follow Christ is to go where He leads us. To be available to the unsaved sinners we have contact with on a daily basis.

So many times we neglect to pray for our own lost family members. As well as the people we deal with at work or even in our small groups at church.

There are so many hurting people in this world who need to know the Lord. But somehow we become complacent.

I pray to you God to give to me a broken heart. For the lost, as well as the weary Christian who needs a helping hand.

Help me Lord to see the desire in the people around me that need you, that I may be a witness for you, and indeed follow you and your cross.

And bring to my aching heart a willingness to go where you would lead me. No matter what price I may pay. In this way indeed, I will take up my cross daily for you.
