Be glad you children of the faith,
Rejoice in the Lord all his saints,
For He has given you the former rain,
Yes, there was the moderate rain,
But now the latter rain
Has come down in abundance.
Can you hear it?
Sounds like rain.

An abundance of rain
He said in the last days
He would pour out His spirit
On our sons and daughters,
On the young and old,
On the leaders and the servants
He being not a respecter of persons,
Sweet rain.

Old men dreaming dreams again,
Young men having visions
Even children prophesying.
He said he would show wonders,
In the heavens and in the earth.
How the sun would darken,
And the moon into blood.
Drenching rain.

Check it out, when did he do it?
On the day of Pentecost.
When they were all in one accord,
A sound from heaven,
Like a mighty rushing wind
As like fire, sat on each of them
Filling them with the Holy Spirit.
Abundant rain.

Last Stanza to be Sung

Oh, thank you for the rain,
Life changing rain!
No longer have to endure the pain,
His poured out Spirit will sustain.

If these last days bring a sting,
Iíll be able to lift my head and sing.
Yes, to your holy word I will cling
And to the power that the rain brings.

Joel 2:28-32 KJV
Acts 2:1-21 KJV

This such a good take on Joel. It flowed so well...one little thing the song at the end wasn't needed to me it changed the flow. The free verse was very nice.

Very nice! You show a lovely flow of thought and spirit in your free verse. I've often wondered how song lyrics would go over here in the Challenge; but on the whole I'd say it's better to stick with the poetry form...my own pieces always lose something when I forget this and change the meter at the end. Do keep sharing your wonderful gift!

One of my favourite pieces this week. Well done.
