I’ve just mopped the floor.
But, Hon, I’m tired, my arms are full,
It’s far to the front door.
Do not set foot in here, Darling,
You know I’m in the shower.
I need peroxide on my cut
You’ve been in there an hour.
From the stove, Dear, back away
Dinner’s a surprise.
I’m starving now, my loving wife
Soon I’ll eat... or die!
Out of that cookie jar, Sweetheart
You’re getting much to fat.
All the more for you to love
And chipmunk cheeks to pat.
Get out of that recliner, Hon,
You know that it’s my chair.
But this one’s soft and warm, my Dear
Couldn’t you once just share?
Within the checkbook, do not peek
Your birthday’s coming, Hon.
I need to pay the light bill soon
Before we get a dun.
Too many rules and disciplines,
Don’t enter here, nor there.
Stay out of this, away from that
Enter only if you dare.
But Jesus invites us to “Enter”
His presence every day.
He waits with arms wide open
And longs to show the way.
To enter His gates with thanksgiving
Proceed through His courts with praise,
To lift our arms to heaven
And seek His lovely face.
Forget about forbidden doors
Where entering is taboo;
And pursue the Lord of heaven
He’s always open to you.
