Topic: Escape (01/02/06)
What really is escape? Some may say it’s making it out of a situation alive or avoiding something all together. Yet people never think what miracle helped them escape. When I hear the word escape I think of the time when I begged my mom to take me to a store and if I wouldn’t have we would have been in a car accident. Just as we turned a car smashed into the truck that was in the lane next to us. If we wouldn’t have been going to the store that car would have hit us. Now many may question what it is that chooses who escapes and who doesn’t but I know that no amount of luck or destiny could be responsible for making everything happen for a reason because only God can choose for He is our maker. He chooses what we call escape but I personally wouldn’t call it escape at all but a happening with a purpose. Now one thing we can call our definition of an escape is a miracle for us but a misfortunate event for the person that may take our place. Now we may cry for them just as I cried night after for the little girl who was in the truck that got hit. We have no control over what happens. We may never even know why. Yet we must realize that we can’t change what happened but we can pray and know that there was a reason behind it.

If you ever re-visit this piece, consider writing it as a story, with the "going to the store" incident, and the lesson you learned. It's an interesting incident, and would make a powerful story.

Watch out for run-on sentences.
