Topic: Digital Detox (04/24/14)
I Can't leave the house without my tablet, or breathe without my Iphone,
when I'm home I kick back and relax stare at the television,
& watch shows as a 'Christian' that are "total contradictions",
its like a digital addiction, Facebook, games, science fiction,
downloading pornography on my laptop, I don't feel any "conviction",
earphones in as I listen to secular music praying for life decisions,
I believe in God, but why won't God listen? I can't see his vision,
Went way over my data limit again, me and dads gonna have a collision,
people say that I'm a technology addict with so much derision,
I'm not one for "digital detox", I would rather be locked in a prison,
these products bring me happiness and I don't feel like quitting,
I hear I'm a victim to corporate America, but I don't like that depiction
our God is all loving right, doesn't the bible give that the description?
so it doesn't matter what we do, we we will always be forgiven,
Isn't that why Jesus had to endure his painful crucifixion?
so we can be given grace, do what we want and keep living?
seems people are set out to scrutinize me with verbal affliction,
but yesterday I was hungry, cooking some food in the kitchen,
I dropped my Iphone on a bad position and it started glitching,
my games were deleting themselves, screen scrolling and clicking,
then my bible app opened to '1 john 2:16', and the colors stopped flicking
it hit me like an uppercut how far from Jesus that I've been slipping,
I let this digital world that I live in give me another reason for division,
the devils been using it to distract me from God and keep me pinned in submission,
So I confessed the weight of my shame and asked him to do some heavy lifting,

I sensed God responding...

"everyday on earth is a battle, stay faithful and turn away from your sinning,
you have victory in me, do not fear the war with Satan because I end up winning"

This reads like a song...great job with this entry, and it resonates truth in a world rocked with technology that gets newer with each passsing nano sec.


Excellent message at the end.

Thankful for your good ending. I have more than one relative pinned to a digital screen of some kind. Electronic devices do keep people's minds off of what is most important in life, which is definitely not digital games and social networks. Satan is producing a society of weak-willed, spiritually starved empty souls. What will the church look like when Christ returns?
