The dictionary defines beauty as the quality or qualities of a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses.
Who could disagree?
In the course of our day-to-day life, we are told about beautiful people or beautiful, faraway places to visit, but most people know that beauty is all around us, if we are open to it. I wrote "Panaroma" to emphasize that fact.
Beautiful is…
The smell of sand
and ocean salt and
blossoms in the spring.
Trees swaying,
orange, yellow and red on a crisp, autumn day,
and deer frolicking in snow.
A tiny heart beating
into a baby’s cry,
a sparrow’s melody.
Voices cheering
the long run home,
and your sweet “hello.”
Beautiful is…
Turkey and bread stuffing
in the oven, warm,
and velvet dresses
on perfumed skin.
The brilliance
of an island sunset, still and calm,
and a place to call home.
The model smile
of the boy next door,
the smell of fresh cut grass.
Rain falling softly on a summer night,
and the scent of life.
