When my brother was a teen he had a lot of girl friends, a deep love of rock music and all things beer. He said he would repent and sober up when he was real old, like 40. He is now 50, even older, and doesn’t even believe in a God to repent to.
There is a song by the Winans called “ Tomorrow.” A verse says “Jesus said here I stand, won’t you please take my hand, and you said I will tomorrow.” We all have a ticket that will expire sometime and we don’t know when. We should have a sense of urgency and live like we will die soon, which we very well might. What does God want from us now?
I want to shake my brother and son into believing in Jesus now, but apparently God’s time is not my time. Our father died not believing. One always asks oneself, what more could I have done?
The song “Tomorrow” ends, “Don’t just turn and walk away, Tomorrow, tomorrow is not promised, Don’t let this moment slip away, oh, Your tomorrow could very well be here today.”
