I notice a small boat in the crystal blue lagoon. It is a rowboat, and there is a man rowing towards shore. He is clothed in a white robe and his long brown hair and darker brown beard are dancing in the gentle wind. I feel like he’s rowing in my direction. The oars sink below the blue water and then reappear only to be reset for the next strokes. The crystal blue water drips from the blades in slow motion. The man in the rowboat is now looking directly at me.
I notice that I am also dressed in a robe. Mine is dark teal and feels like it’s made of cotton. I notice the gentle breeze carries with it a nearly overwhelming pleasant aroma. The man in the boat has gentleness about him. He does not speak, but I feel he wants to greet me. This man is somehow important. I think he is responsible for the place of wonder I find myself in. Why do I feel like I’ve know him for a long time?
The rowboat reaches shore, and the man in the white robe makes his way towards me. I am frozen with curiosity. “How are you?” he asks, coming closer and extending his arms as if to hug me.
I let the man I am in awe of wrap his arms around me and give me a tight hug. “How do I know you?” I question him, hoping he will not find my query offensive.
“You know me by my name, though you have never met me in the flesh,” the amazing man replied. “I am the truth men run from, and at the same time, the truth men run to.”
“What is your name?” I ask.
“My name is Crystal Blue.”
“Crystal Blue?”
“I am named after the water you see before you. It is vast, life-giving, and cannot be destroyed. It is powerful and molds the landscapes wherever it comes ashore. I mold the thoughts and motives of men in much the same way?” the man in the white robe gave as his answer.
“Why am I here?” I ask.
“You are here because you seek the truth. You wanted a sign to confirm what you already know to be true. This vision before you plays out in the souls of men countless times in countless locations. The delivery of truth knows no boundaries, and as you ask your questions, you realize you already know your answers to be true and all powerful,” the man in the white robe explained.
The oil painting surrounding me did not diminish as I began to understand that I was dreaming. In fact, quite the opposite occurred. Knowing full well that I would soon be awake, the world around me became even more real, for it was the eternal world of reward that actually overshadowed the world of temporary satisfaction and comfort.
Awaking in my own bed in my own room, I completely embraced the gift I had been given. Crystal blue waters offered a crystal blue truth to a world of disillusion and discontentment. The Lord of Truth came to visit me in my dreams, and I recognized Him as my Savior and King because His Sea of Truth is undeniable. And I no longer dream the same dreams or seek the same contentment in a world of absolute truths, amazing possibilities, and extraordinary creations. I seek only the hug of my friend in the white robe, which is more than enough.
