This was her favorite time of day. Everything seemed to be waking up. Olivia also loved the springtime. It was a new beginning for everything. Little critters were being born, butterflies were everywhere, and the sweet smell of Honeysuckles filled the air. God sure was magnificent! He even loved her enough to give her a new beginning.
The last few months have been very difficult for Olivia since the accident. But, she was so thankful just to be alive and be able to sit out on the dock and absorb her surroundings. She had promised God that she would do more for Him with this new chance at life. He obviously allowed her to live because there was something else that she needed to do for Him.
The man of her dreams came up behind her on the dock. Her husband, James, had been by her side every moment since her accident and never complained at all. Instead, he just kept encouraging Olivia to get better. She hadn’t thought she could love him more than the day they were married, but every day since the accident, her love for him grew and grew.
“You almost ready to go?” He said, placing his strong arms around her as he knelt down beside her.
Olivia leaned back against her rock. He was the only constant thing in her life besides God. God was enough. But, sometimes it is nice to have a rock you can touch. “Sure, I think it is going to be a great day at therapy. I feel good today.”
“You have come so far in just the last few weeks. I’m really proud of you.” He hugged her tightly.
“Your support means the world to me.” She leaned her head back on his shoulder and looked into his loving eyes.
He pushed the hair off her face and lightly kissed her forehead as he stood up. “I think it’s about time to leave. Let me help you up.” He placed his arms under hers and gently lifted her placing her in the wheelchair. “You comfortable?”
“No, but it won’t be much longer that I have to be in this thing. Look, those dandelions have turned the whole side of that mountain to gold. Isn’t it beautiful?”
“It sure is. You will be climbing up that mountain soon.” He slowly pushed her chair up the dock.
“Let me get over the hurdle of walking first. I’m just thankful God allowed me to be able to see spring again. You know it’s my favorite season.”
“I’m thankful God allowed me to be able to show you how much I love you.”
Looking up and seeing the love on her husband’s face, see had never felt more beautiful or more loved.
“I love you more.” She said, smiling at her husband.
