Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Summer (the season) (07/09/09)
She lays out the blanket of many colors that she has been working on.
Bright greens intertwined with earthy tones.
She turns up the volume as nature’s symphony begins to play.
As darkness falls the trees are adorned with the twinkling of lights.
Flower petals fall softly to the ground,
The sweet scent of her fragrance fills the air.
She lays before us a feast,
The fruits of her labor cool sparkling water.
With all of the ingredients that God has given her,
She has created the perfect setting
For the season we call summer.
Children will laugh and play,
Families will gather,
Vows will be made.
Independence will be celebrated,
Vibrant colors and stars will fall from the sky,
We will remember those who have sacrificed their lives.
While we celebrate our freedom, and exchange our faith, hope and love
I am certain that our mother of nature is watching with a smile on her face,
Because that’s what mother’s do.

Hi Lynn. I just wanted to leave a quick note to let you know your entry, A Mother's Celebration, actually did very well in the Summer Challenge. Although you didn't receive an award, you made it into the Highest Rankings for Level 1, placing 15th in that Level.

The competition is always intense in Level 1, so you deserve a pat on the back. :-)
