Topic: Hot and Cold (04/09/09)
Dear Lord, I stand before You baring my cold heart upon Your fiery love.

Hold me close to You so I may understand the rhythm of Your heartbeat. Let me feel the heat of Your embrace. I need to hear the gentleness of Your voice, caressing my passionless soul into Your warm care. May I see Your beautiful face, dear Lord. I want to gaze into Your tender eyes and see how Your consuming fire melts my stubborn sins away.

Teach me to trust in Your burning truth that dissolves the iciness of falsehood. Don't allow me to freeze in this troubled world where there is nothing to grasp but chilly promises borne from biting deceptions.

Ignite my spirit with Your flaming holiness for I can no longer stand the dismal blindness of damnation. There's too much cutting pain and penetrating heartaches that I have to bear. Only the blazing words of hope from Your blessed throne can calm this wintry grief.

Your divine presence alone can complete my raw existence. My earthly treasures are frozen in an icebox of selfish ambitions and can only be transformed into heavenly richness with Your lustrous generosity.

What am I to do with my hard-earned credentials? They remain bleak and meaningless unless they are used for Your dazzling glory. What about my expensive clothes? They cannot even shield me from the bitter frost without your summery protection.

O Lord, your magnificence spreads like wildfire across this arctic world. The callousness of the evil one shivers with intense fear at your resplendence. There's no other loveliness that gleams as brightly as yours.

To You I give my numbed life, for You alone can transform it into vivaciousness in complete surrender to Your will. I wrap myself around Your radiance where I should belong for always.

You are my Pillar of Fire, delivering me from the scorching fires of hell. You are the Fourth Man who brought me to safety from the red-hot furnace. You are the illuminating Light of the world that drives away the darkness.

Thank You, Lord, for Your sunlight of forgiveness. You are my Savior who paid the price for my freedom through Your precious blood.

I honor You and I bow before You, my King.

In Your precious Name I pray, Amen.
