She went to sleep last night and woke up this morning and the Kingdom she would one day rule; hopefully, with the King of her dreams, was different somehow. The charred mountains and burnt rooftops from the recent war of their neighboring country's invasion were nowhere to be seen. It was as if the country had rejevunated itself overnight. From the distance, she could see the fortress walls, but they were no longer gray and there were no cannons poking through holes to the outside world; no sentries stood upon the massive structures waiting for an invading army. The walls she had grown up with looked almost glittery and shining like the ballroom gown she had worn to her coming of age party just last year. She was a bit confused and so far she had not seen a soul since she had awakened.
The last thing the beautiful, kind, redheaded princess had remembered was a big "BOOM" as the cannons went off to try to fend off the enemy. Her mother, the Queen, had advised her daughter to go down below, way in the recesses of the castle to hide until the fighting was over. It was at this point her memory went cloudy. She did not remember going to sleep and maybe, she thought, I am asleep now and dreaming and only need to wake up. She reached down and pinched herself. This was strange, there was no skin to grab and no pain felt to give her the indication she was awake or alive.
Wait, what was that? There was a man coming towards her in white robes, his hair shining in the sun. No, that was wrong as she looked up at the sky. She did not see a sun. The light was illuminating off the man himself. She always envisioned a knight in shining armour riding in; her prince would be handsome, kind, and strike such a feeling of love within her from the onset. She felt this now, but never had she pictured the light actually coming off the prince himself. She giggled to herself. If she had to dream about her prince; at least, she dreamt big. The King and Queen always told her to dream big being a royal princess.
He finally reached her and spoke. "Arabella, I have been waiting for you."
"And I have been waiting for you all my life, sire."
"Yes, I am your prince, but not the one you are thinking."
"Oh, sire, I know you are a prince, one only has to look at you to feel it. Right here in my heart, Your Highness." She patted her chest gently.
He placed her hands upon her and closed his eyes. An electrical charge went through her body and she fell to her knees. She remained there for several minutes and he kneeled with her, his hands still on her shoulders and she heard him murmur, "I love you so much, my child. Welcome home."
Arabella opened her eyes. The memory of the booming guns, bloody bodies, and the destroyed kingdom she had left behind not even a distance memory.
"Lord, my Jesus! I am so glad to see you today. I am so blessed to be an heir to the Kingdom of Heaven. So beautiful, no words can express my love."
"Come, my child, it is time to eat at the banquet table. You have been walking the seashore all the day long."
Love and light flourished as they strolled off towards the walls filled with jewels and the golden roads reflecting off of them that provided a beautiful sunset to their home.

Light eminating from the prince, just like the idea of a knight with shining armor. Jesus is everything and even more of all that this world desire. We create beautiful fairy tales, to imagine a beautiful, perfect world, and we fail to realize that coming kingdom is even more enthralling than all we could ever create.
