Although, when we were kids there were always a lot of Do Over’s. If it was our turn spinning a spinner for a board game and it did not seem to go how we wanted it to go, we would just call out “Do Over”, and more than likely we would get to spin again.
In the game of life there are no Do Over’s. What we choose to do last year, last month, yesterday or even a minute ago, there are no Do Over’s. Whether we choose something good or something regrettable we cannot choose to change what we did. We have to live with what we chose at that time. This is why the game of life should be played by the rules.
Now you may be saying, “There is no Rule Book for the Game of Life”.
Well, there is one and it happens to be said to be the best selling book in the USA. What is that book you ask? It is the Bible.
One problem with this book being the rules for the game of life is that each person interprets it for their own good. It’s like people are trying to have their own Do Over’s or at least their own Do It My Way’s. I guess there is a verse that speaks something about “working out your own salvation”. Maybe this is what people are doing.
Another problem with this book being the rules for the game of life is that many Bibles are purchased for the some other person to read hoping “it will do some good”.
Even though there are no “Do Over’s” in the game of life, there is a “Cover Up or Wash Away” in the game of life. Because we will choose to do regrettable things it is good to know that even though there are no “Do Over’s” we can have a ”Cover Up or Wash Away”.
We allow God to do a miracle when we believe in Jesus, regret our regrettable ways and let God perform a miracle by using Jesus’ blood to Wash Away our regrets. When these rules for the game of life are followed – we live like there is a “Do Over” in the game of life.
