Come, my son, your brother returns
He’s gone; he’s lost and now he’s found
Dance, my son, your brother returns
He’s dead; he’s crossed – just over the mound.
You ask; you insist, yes, he’s gone
You weep; you argue why he’s returned
You yell; you decry what I’ve done
You wish; you relish that he’d be burned
Come, my son, your brother returns
He’s changed; he’s new – his love renewed
Dance, my son, your brother returns
He lives with my righteousness imbued
You swipe; you complain why I’m glad
You cry; you surmise how I love
You know; and I know that he’s bad
You smirk; you refuse what’s above
Repent, my son, for you, too, sinned
My heart, my soul – I long for you
Return, my son, quick as a wind
My love, my grace is for you two
Rejoice, my son, what’s mine is yours
For it befits that we rejoice
Be glad, my son, my love endures
Partake; enjoy your father’s choice
Come home, my sons, in heaven’s joys
My heart exults as you prostrate
Come home, my sons, I’m full of joy
My soul, so glad – I celebrate
