When I was a kid, I loved to read – and write. I wrote stories a lot in elementary school and junior high (yeah, that’s what they called it “back in the day.”).
I had no idea I was a “budding young author.” All I knew was that making up stories and writing them out was FUN. And I would have loved a community of like-minded kids to share my stories, and passion, with. Of course, personal computers and the internet were barely on the radar when I was that age. But now, the options for that kind of community are endless – though not necessarily safe.
But FaithWriters has just the right option for the budding young author in your life – whether it be a child, grandchild, niece or nephew, neighbor, or student.
FaithWriters for Kids is a writing community especially for Christian kids between 7 and 14. There they can share poems, stories, jokes, thoughts about God, and anything else they wish in a safe, Christian environment. There’s even a weekly topic if they need writing ideas. And, just like the adult FaithWriters site, there’s an opportunity to leave feedback – kid to kid. (Just FYI – the members choose from a list of comments/emoticons as a response to writing, so there is no concern about mean-spirited comments on stories)
Does this sound like something a 7-to-14-year-old in your life would enjoy? Have him or her sign up. It’s free!
WHO IN YOUR LIFE MIGHT ENJOY FAITHWRITERS FOR KIDS? WOULD YOU HAVE ENJOYED IT AT THAT AGE?

I love this! I can’t wait for my 12 yr old daughter to get home today so i can show her. She is a budding author!
She is doing the nanowrimo for kids right now. Her disciple is putting me to shame. However when the month is over she will have the majority of a novel complete. i am so proud of her.
Thanks to faithWriters for doing this and posting it here for us to see.
I have SUCH admiration for your daughter! I’m doing NaNoWriMo too – but I’m almost POSITIVE she’s further along than I am! LOL. I’m sure she’ll love FaithWriters for Kids
Thanks for stopping by!
I would have LOVED this as a kid. Sometimes I feel all the cool stuff came out after I grew up a little bit, even though I was born in the 90s. I know they’ll have fun!
