Poetry
Woe is me! For I am undone!
A man of unclean lips
I dwell in the midst of a sinful people
Where right under wrong is eclipsed
Here I stand before a perfect God
Holy, powerful, righteous, and pure
I can't look at your face when I remember my sins
How can I see you and endure?
In a dark and wicked world do I live
That embraces evil and hates what is good
That loves the devil's lies and despises your truth
That's stiffnecked and rotten as old wood
That denies you exist and ignores your help
That wipes out your people and rejects your Son
That steals, kills, and destroys without cease
None are rigtheous, no not one
Like a deep dark swamp we are trapped
With no quick and easy means of flight
Your followers are outnumbered a hundred to one
As becaons in the blackest of nights
Some of your churches can be just as bad
When they compromise and twist your words to please
Those who seek to fill their deep pockets
Jesus would not hesitate to treat them like the Pharisees
Sinners in the hands of an angry God
We are mortal, foolish, and full of pride
He could easily wipe us out like a repulsive bug
But instead a second chance He wants to provide
Repent! Prepare the way for the Lord's second coming
Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand
Repent! With sorrow and weeping like Ninevah
Repent! And with the Almighty's blessings we shall stand
Lord forgive me, a sinner
My spirit is willing but my flesh is weak
My rigtheousness is like filthy rags
My deliberate acts of sin, oh how they reek
Adam's blood still flows through these veins
Pushing me towards the devil's scheme
But with Christ's precious blood donated to me
I can live by the spirit as one redeemed
Throw yourselves down before the holy Judge
Return, prodigal sons and daugthers, to the good Father of grace
He will hear us and bring us back in a warm embrace
Our rotten, disgusting deeds... all will be erased
He hates to be angry with us and yearns for our love
Come back to Him! There is still some time.
Let us regret our selfish decisions and sickening pride
And He will lift us from the self-centered grime
Our sins are forgiven and we are made new
Let us return to our Father and sin no more
Then will He gladly heal our nations, restore our homes
And welcome us home to His glorious shore
