Missions
A Mission With a Vision
A student once asked a Christian Missionary, “What was your biggest surprise when you went to China?” He replied, “myself!”
“Boast not in what you do for Christ, but in what Christ does for you.”

A week from now, I’ll be joining a group of other Christians in a mission work to the Philippines. I will be leaving tonight with some of them. My baggage is ready, with my Bible, journal, reading materials for the mission, cotton clothings, even my insect repellent . I needed to be ready for the hot weather, mosquitoes, the dusts, the Enemy.
But even when everything seemed ready, in my heart, I was not .
I know it’s a great privilege and honor working for God and tell others about the Gospel across the globe. I am actually excited about it. But nervous.. I'll be lying if I'm not! As the mission trip gets closer and closer, fears and doubts started creeping inside of me.
It’s so easy to get distracted by the Enemy at this time. He would rather have me do anything (like non-stop shopping ) than share my faith. I began to succumb to negative talks like, “I am not equipped enough for this kind of task!”, “I am not good enough, mature enough, not ready to face the challenge.” “I have personal issues to take care of first.” Restlessness sets in.
But as I prayed, God reminded me that “Anyone who let himself be distracted for the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:62 ).
Inspiring quotes flooded my mind as if God is right here speaking.
“Get out on a limb. That is where the fruit is.”
“God’s call to a task includes His strength to complete it.”
“You can never be too small for God to use, you can only be too big.”
“Vision that looks inward becomes duty.
Vision that looks outward becomes aspiration
Vision that looks upward becomes faith.”
Mission with an upward vision becomes an eternal success.
Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21 )
So here I am Lord, send me.
Father God, strengthen my faith, deepen my compassion, develop my patience through sacrifices and challenges ahead, give me strength and joy to share my testimonies, and the Good News of salvation even to the ends of the earth for You promised You will be with me. As you saved me by grace through my faith, and through the shedding of Your blood, this is the least that I can do for You, Jesus. It's not about me. It's all about You.
To my co-laborers for Christ, this is my prayer:
“May God be gracious to us and bless us
Look on us with favor
So that God's Way may be known on earth, His salvation among all nations.” (Psalm 67:1-2)
Thank You Jesus for the enlightenment. I am now ready. All aboard for eternity!
For God did not call the equipped, but He equipped the called who have the willing heart.

What a powerful message. This has encouraged me today. I pray in agreement with you and will keep you in my prayers as you are in the field. Keep serving. In Christ, Christian
Good for you, Gloria...God will be with you. "“I am not good enough, mature enough, not ready to face the challenge.” “I have personal issues to take care of first.”...No, you are not good enough. None of us is. But God is. No, you are not ready--in yourself, but God will be with you...God will take care of your personal issues....I admire you. Since I have missionaries in my family, I hear about the challenges that must be faced....But God is able...God bless you...Helen
Dear Gloria, my wonderful Sister-in-Christ, you quoted this wonderful verse: "For God did not call the equipped, but He equipped the called who have the willing heart." You, dear Sis, have SUCH a willing and BEAUTIFUL heart! You shared so deeply with us, and becausee of your words many hearts will become more willing and much more encouraged! I know God will be in your midst the entire time as you go to serve Him. May He bless every aspect of this faith journey and keep you uplifted and inspired as you share His Word and His Love! Thank you for speaking to our hearts! Love, SiS Peggy
Gloria, you always bless me. I know that God is going to do mighty things on this trip with you. I can't wait to hear all the amazing praise reports! Hang in there and know that you are such a gift and God is very pleased with you. And I am blessed for knowing you as well.
You go girl, for God has not chosen the wise or the scribe, but He has chosen those who have faith in Him and not in themselves. You are ready for Him to use you mightily for His glory. May He bless your efforts beyond belief for God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. I am SO very proud to know you my dear sister. Love, Sharon
