God Turns Pages
There comes a time in our lives that God will turn a page. This turning of the page will always change us and glorify God. After the turning of every page there a blessing in store for the servant of God. The bible tells us in Job 1: 3 that Job was the greatest of all the people in the East. Then God decided to turn a page in Job’s life by allowing Satan to afflicts him. Job accepted this turning of the page by stating:” The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord. Despite the affliction, Job worshiped God. The bible reports in Job 7:3 that Job endured months of suffering. The turning of a page could last for months, as in the case of Job. Then there comes the time for the turning of another page. God has gotten the glory, it’s time for rewards. We are told that God turned the suffering of Job around and gave him twice as much as he had before.
I am fascinated by the turning of the pages in the life of Joseph. He was his father’s favorite son. Then God turned a page in his life. We know that it was God for the word tells us in Psalms 105:17 God sent a man into Egypt ahead of the Israelites, even Joseph. There they put him in fetters and iron. Joseph endured great suffering because of this turning of the page in his life. This turning of the page was to try and test the word of God that Joseph had received through dreams. Have you received a word from God. Look for that word to be tested. Then God turned another page in Joseph’s life and Pharaoh sent for him and made him second in command in all the land of Egypt. These are pages that can only be turned by the hand of God.
The bible says in Hebrews 11:24 that Moses was raised as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. Moses grew up with the best of everything. Then God turned a page in his life. The bible says that Moses had to flee from Egypt to Midian. He became son in law to a man by the name of Jethro, and kept his sheep for forty years. God turns another page in his life and calls him to go back to Egypt, making Moses the greatest leader in the Bible next to Jesus Christ. God knows how to turn pages.
Saul of Tarsus was a religious man who thought he was doing God a favor by persecuting the followers of Jesus Christ. One day he was traveling to Damascus for that intent, but God turned a page in his life. On that that day Saul met Jesus Christ and his life was changed. He traveled for a time and preached the gospel to the Jews as Saul{ a Hebrew name} of Tarsus. Then God turned another page in his life, gave him a gentile name {Paul a gentile name} and made Paul the Apostle to the gentiles. This man did great things for God, writing one third of the New Testament, because God turned a page in his life. I joyfully accept the pages that God turns in my life for I know that it’s going to work for my good and His glory. Has God turned any pages in your life?
