Prophecy
A CALL TO: WAKE UP
By: Kim Stairs 2004
Introduction:
This series is sent from the Holy Spirit to parts of Christ’s body. In Revelation 3: 1-3 it reads, “… I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I come to you.”
I believe Christ is looking down on His body and sees parts that are not growing, dry, complacent, and dead. Christ is the head of the body, the church. I believe He sees areas of works that are growing but not producing the fruit Jesus desires. Cancer is born from cells in the body growing without obedience to the Creator’s design.
I share this message with you out of an open heart and obedience. The Lord God spoke in Ezekiel 3:18, “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them a warning from me… I will hold you accountable for his blood.” Verse 21 of chapter 3 continues, “But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself.” God on judgment day will judge on my obedience to share the words of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit knows who internally dry or dead inside is.I only ask that He speak to you through these words and restore you to life again.
This message has also come from much time in God’s presence and travail in the Spirit. Isaiah 50: 4-5 states, “The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.” Personally, the Lord has led me, my family and circumstances through these places. It has been during these times and coming out of them that I received this message.
I pray as you are hearing or reading these words that your heart has been prepared by the Holy Spirit. I sense a great awakening coming to the Body of Christ as a whole. The Holy Spirit is waiting for the moment to pour out His power. To advance the Kingdom of God and destroy the works of the devil, we need the resurrection power of Christ.
If you are hearing this, the Holy Spirit has drawn you to this word. Please allow God to examine your spirit. Only your Creator can look deep into the areas of your soul and spirit to see where you are dry and dead. Only the Creator can breathe life into you again. As you humble yourself and wake up, the last word is about seeing your harvest and visions live again. Be prepared for an awakening and blessing for your obedience to let God examine you, and your humility of brokenness before Him.
The areas we are going to look at are: spiritual debt (back to basics), empty womb (individual examine), resurrection power (examining the church body), and mountains of Israel coming forth (blessings). I pray these words will take deep root in your spirit to produce fruit. Revelation 3: 4-6 gives a word of compassion and mercy from Christ, “Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
There may be some of you who are not dead or dry in your life, but can help others because you have gone through times when you were dead and dry. You may also receive a fresh breath of God as a new wave of His Spirit comes over us because life is life. We all need to have a personal experience with the Holy Spirit as a part of the Trinity of the God head. Beloved as you overcome, you will be dressed in white. Your name will remain in the book of life for eternity. We will be presented to God blameless and pure. We will be found not doing works of the flesh, but works born out of the breath of God, the Holy Spirit. We will be found to be a loving bride expecting the return of the King, preparing the fields for harvest.
BREAKING FREE FROM SPIRITUAL DEBT
In today’s society, most Americans know financial struggle. Along with the struggle came financial debt. Regardless of the reason, most struggles that happen in the natural realm are also happening in the spiritual realm. This is what the Holy Spirit spoke to me. He called it: Spiritual Debt. Just to let you know, some of this word was hard for me to write. I asked the Holy Spirit a couple of times, “Are you sure that’s what you want me to say?” It is with obedience that I share this with you in the way the Lord spoke it to me.
What is Spiritual debt? One term for debt is lack. Another term for debt is borrowing form others what we do not have. In Romans 13: 8- “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another.” Another version says it like this, “Owe no man anything, except to love him.”Going back a few verses to verse 2 it explains that God established authority. When we rebel against authority, we are rebelling against God. The first authority for a born again Christian is the Word of God. I do not mean that God in person is not sovereign. Joshua 1says, “Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate upon it day and night, so you are careful to do everything in it.” It is not until we get that, that we get what comes next, “Then you will be prosperous and successful.” We need the foundational basics.
THE THREE AREAS OF SPIRITUAL DEBT ARE:
1.A negative balance of God’s word.
Somewhere through our busyness or struggles in life we set down our life source. We got distracted, but a Christian who is not feeding their spirit with its food, The Bible, becomes week. We are weak in prayer, warfare, and against demonic attacks. We have strength for a while but as God’s Word becomes more distant we are growing weaker and farther away from Hs presence.
We begin to borrow old revelations and Scriptures the Holy Spirit has given in the past over previous situations. Yes His Word is strong, but it takes a logos or rhema Word anointed from heaven to get us through a current trial or struggle. Many people memorize Scriptures and can rattle them off, but there is no power from the Throne of the resurrection of Jesus. When you have an anointed revelation of a Scripture, it becomes a sword to cut down the enemy. 2 Corinthians 10: 4- The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (NIV)
2.Borrowing His Presence.
As we grow weak from starving ourselves of the Word of God, it becomes more difficult to spend time with Jesus in personal prayer. We go to church and expect a glimpse of God’s presence in worship will sustain us until we gather together again. However, during the days, weeks, even months that we are withdrawing from one service we have gone into a negative balance. God, Jesus, is an intimate God. In Psalms 27: 8 – “My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ “Your face Lord, I will seek”.
Scripture also tells us that He created us, fashioned us from the moment of conception. If anyone deserves our time and intimacy it is our Creator, The Lord. When God’s presence becomes a question of where He is, it has been to long since we sat with Him. It gets harder and harder to take time for prayer the more distant we drift away. This is when our soul and flesh creep back into old habits, attitudes, thoughts, sins, etc. The heavens start to feel like brass.
We do still need to gather in the assembly, but that does not replace personal relationship and regular communion with the Lord. It is in times of intimacy that we learn to hear His voice speak to us. His desires become our desires. His heart beat our heart beat. The Lord’s thoughts our thoughts. The Bible teaches us that God’s ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. How exciting to know that Jesus desires to share His greatness with mere man.
3.Operating on another’s faith level.
We have all gone through circumstances when we needed the gift of faith. The gift of faith is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is when the person praying with us receives faith on our behalf to receive an answer to our prayer or healing because our own faith is weak (find that in 2 Cor. 12: 4-9). This is not the faith level the Holy Spirit is referring to here.
In Mathew 17: 20, Jesus told the disciples that they could not cast out the demon in the boy because they had little faith. He goes on to tell them that they only need faith as small as a mustard seed. A seed that is very tiny yet grows to be a huge tree later.
A seed dies in order to grow. As we grow in the Lord, our doubt should decrease. Our faith should grow because we begin to trust and believe what He says. Like a measuring cup, the more of the Lord we put into our life, the higher our faith in our cup.
We cannot minister and help others if we have no faith. The disciples could not heal the boy because they were trying to take on or operate in someone else’s faith. In this situation, it was Jesus. Like clothing, we all were different sizes. Some clothes of our friends are too big and others too small. When we try to operate in someone else’s faith level, in the spirit realm we look like we’re with dressed too tight(we have out grown that size) or too baggy (because we have not grown into that size yet).
We grow with our clothes. We do not wear sizes that do not fit us. Jesus said in verse 20, “that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there.’ And it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Jesus is telling us the size of our own personal faith coat or measuring cup will move mountains. When we are faced with trials, sickness, or tests our own faith is ok. We do not have to be anybody else. We come to the Father as we are. Also if you have an enemy standing against you, you come to God’s throne of grace in confidence to warfare. We do not have to have Benny Hinn’s faith to cast out sickness. It took Benny Hinn time to develop his faith. Jesus gave His believers authority when we believe!
With each victory and the Word of God our faith will grow by inches and miles. It will mature as we grow spiritually.
WARNING:
That is why it is important to stay in the Word and God’s presence. As we starve our spirit man of its food, our faith will decrease in measure with the circumstances that come into our life. Just as our bodies become anorexic from starvation. A person starving themselves appears to be functioning normally on the outside until it is almost too late to be fixed on the inside. Their body becomes sunken and frail. We cannot let our spirit man get weak and fragile. That is when the enemy will try to break you. It would not take much at this point to do so.1 Corinthians 10: 12- “So if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you do not fall.”
The good news is that the verse continues that we are not tempted beyond what we can bear, and God does provide a way out of a tempting situation.
The three areas of Spiritual Debt:
1.A negative balance of God’s Word.
2.Borrowing God’s presence.
3.Operating on another’s faith level.
Three ways to keep you out of spiritual debt:
1.Stay in God’s Word daily. It is your food.
2.Daily communion with Jesus. It is our breath and revelation.
3.Operate in the faith you have. You have the same authority.
EMPTY WOMB-BEING SPIRITUALLY FRUITLESS
Receiving this word started with a vision. “I was lying on the technicians table for an ultra sound. My belly was big. The technician applied the instrument and began to move it across my belly. As we looked at the screen to see the baby, the womb was empty.” This vision stayed with me and I took it to prayer.
Scripture refers to God’s family as the body of Christ. I believe the Holy Spirit is the technician looking at the body of Christ. Many parts of Christ’s body individually (as churches and people) are producing fruit. The Holy Spirit has implanted seed into ministries. And spiritual births have begun. However, as a whole body of believers across denominational boundaries, I feel the night vision is what the Holy Spirit sees when He exams the inmost parts of the body.
The body may feel pregnant, act pregnant, look several months pregnant but under the exposure of the Spirit, there is now no conception, no baby, no fruit. How this must grieve the Father in heaven. In a time of intercession, I cried out to the Lord that I did not want to be a tree with lush green leaves and no fruit! I do not want to look like a flourishing plant and not be producing fruit. I do not want to be cut off from Christ. Jesus cursed the fig tree in Mathew 21: 19 for not producing fruit. It reads,“Seeking a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, ‘“May you never bear fruit again.”’ Immediately the tree withered.”
In Mark 11: 21 it states, “Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “‘Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”’ The previous verse says it was cursed from the roots. Also the previous verse in Mathew 2: 18 said Jesus went to the tree because he was hungry.
Jesus is 100% God and was 100% man. As a man he needed food to sustain him. As a Christ like follower, we need spiritual food to sustain our spirit. People who are hungry for spiritual food may come to us to get fed. Will we be producing fruit they can be nourished with? We’ve talked about having a spiritual debt of God’s word, trying to measure up to someone else’s faith, and negative balance of God’s presence.
God wants to breathe on us as individuals and as the body of Christ. At the end of this series, the four winds are going to breathe life into existence. Christ, the Anointed One, does not want us to be the walking dead church. We are called to have an abundant life. “Christ came to give us life and life abundantly.”(John 10: 10).
MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL, LIFE COME FORTH
Ezekiel 36-37
In verse 2 of chapter 36, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The enemy said of you, ‘Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession.’” Look back to verse 1, the Lord said the mountain belonged to Israel (mountain of Israel). Here the Spirit is showing Ezekiel that the enemy has taken possession of the mountains that are to be possessed by Israel (symbolizes God’s people).
Many of us have places, goals, desires, dreams, etc. We have been promised to us to possess in Scripture and by the Holy Spirit for our life. We have areas we want to conquer: debt, greed, lust, lack, etc. How many of us have seen the enemy take hold of our mountain? How many of us have a vision, a goal, and once you started moving towards it, and someone else took it from you? With a vision from the Lord, how many of you have experienced verse 3- “… because they have ravaged and hounded you from every side…the object of people’s malice talk and slander…” When you are believing God to conquer mountains “the rest of the nations” (were God’s enemies) battled you, talk about you, discourage you, and they ridicule to take what God says belongs to you. And in doing so in verse 4, it says the ruins became desolate and the towns deserted and plundered. It means that people got your victory, took it all, left nothing for you. So when you’re ready to get there, it is all gone. Like a ghost town, there is only a resemblance of life.
Good news is coming: God continues to say that He has “jealous wrath” because of our suffering scorn. He will scorn the nations (enemies) around you (verse 7). It keeps getting better. In verse 8, “These Mountains that belong to us will start to produce branches and fruit for my people.” We are going to see God remove the nations /enemies from our mountains. Our desires, goals, visions are going to branch out before our eyes and we are going to see fruit growing waiting for us. It continues to say’ “for they will soon come home.” God is bringing us quickly to take back our mountain. It will be ready for us when we get there to pick off the fruit we need in our lives to manifest. What fruit have you believed for?
In verse 11, it says that God is going to even increase men and animals upon you. Those will even be fruitful. Even going to settle people on you as in your past and you will prosper more than before! Have you been in a blessed place before and now you are in a needy place? God is going to bring you back to that blessed place. It will be better than before. God says,“We are going to possess these mountains and the mountain will be our inheritance.”! The Lord is getting ready to move. He is bringing His people back quickly. No other reason except verse 22:
Warning:
“It is not for your sake, O house of Israel (put your name in), that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name.” The Lord is choosing to show the enemy of darkness His holiness through us! His people (verse 23).
Everything God does is for Jesus’ sake. It is to show His glory. He gave us a vision, a dream and we started a journey. On the way, many of us got to a mountain that was empty and lay waste. Some of us continue to trust God and keep going. Others have been stuck and can not move forward. Even some have gone back to the enemies land; yet, God says in verse 24, “For I will take you out of the nations…and bring you back into your own land.” God in His grace and loving kindness is going to wash us with clean water (symbolizes The Bible). He can do what needs to be done in you so you can reach and take your mountains back.
Feel like you have dirt all around you? The Word says,“I will cleanse you from all your impurities.” Feel like you have put other things before God? He says, “I will cleanse you from all your idols.” Feel like you don’t have love for Him any more? His Word says,“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you.” God can do whatever it takes. He
says He will even remove a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. He will put His Spirit in you and move you to follow His decrees and laws (verses 26 and 27). God is going to make your deserted mountain become a garden. The walls will be strong and life will be there (verse 36).
God is a God who restores. He is restoring our mountains. We will possess them and take back our inheritance! On our journey, we may have gone into a valley. In the valley that felt like death (Psalms 23). We saw our mountain barren and our vision become dry. You will find this valley in Ezekiel 37. Ezekiel was led to these bones to breath on them. God asked him if he believed they could live. God knows (verse 1-3). The Lord will bring a man or woman of God into your life to speak to the dryness, dead areas of your life because you cannot see it for yourself (verse 4-6). You cannot believe for yourself that the Lord will revive you or your desires. The person of God, in this case Ezekiel, prophesied that God would bring the bones back to life.
First, the bones began to move and get stirred up. They came together and were covered with skin (verse7). All the plans, dreams, visions you have that have dried out and separated are going to line back together and get in order as the Word is spoken in your life. In verse 9, we see Ezekiel still had to speak life- breath to the bones and flesh. The bones were protected now. They were covered but not alive. He called the 4 wind to blow and breathe to come. In verse 10, “… they came to life and stood up on their feet and became a vast army.” The bones obeyed the word and lived. God is going to revive what has died on the way to our mountain. He says in verse 12 that He is going to open up our graves and bring us out. He is going to bring us back to the land of Israel. We will not live far from God’s Promised Land for our life any longer (verse14).
So if you are on a journey to a mountain of Israel and you have seen the enemy take it from you, get ready to take it back! If you are still moving grab on to someone who is stuck. If you are stuck in a valley or have become dry (or your vision has become barren), get prepared to receive the breath of God. If you are in the enemies land and they are surrounding you, God is coming to cleanse you and bring you back to your own land. Amen!
RESURRECTION POWER
Thank you Lord that it is time in the body to rise up. It is time to live. Beloved it is time to stop just being a resemblance of life. Ezekiel found the valley full of bones. A valley is a place of growth. It is green and lush; yet, not always fun to go through. We mature in the valley. This particular valley in chapter 37 showed its true nature. At the base it is very dry, full of dry bones. These bones were not just dry. Verse 2 states very dry.
Some of God’s chosen people have gotten stuck in the valley. They have been in the valley so long, their structural parts became dry. Their flesh and their blood (life source) have been sucked out by the heat of the fires raging in their life. Others who could not enter the heat, have turned and gone back to the enemy’s land. They have retreated to an area of comfort. However, Scripture tells us in Isaiah that we will walk through fire and not get burnt (paraphrased).
The souls who lay with dry bones had their flesh deteriorate. Their bodies were starved from food and drink. The body of Christ is loosing souls because during times of valleys in our life we have neglected to stay in God’s Word. We have not encountered His presence to refresh us, to water our soul. The Word of God is our life source. It flows to all areas of the body and spirit.
When one area is not getting its essential needs, the whole body begins to suffer. As with anorexia, the body becomes sunken and frail. We cannot afford to let our spirit man become week and fragile. That is the best time the enemy knows we are weak. That is when the enemy will try to come and ambush us.
God set Ezekiel in the middle of the valley. Right in the heart of the entire valley; yet in this valley, was deadness. There was a resemblance of lives. The valley may have looked lush and growing on the exterior, but God is a God who examines the heart. In Hebrews 4: 12 it says, “God judges our thoughts, attitudes. Nothing in all creation is hidden from Him.” The heart of this valley was dead. God examines the heart of man, ministries, and churches, all He created. If one part of Christ’s body is dead and dry, it will begin to rot the other parts of the body.
When the physical body begins to rot, the bad section needs to be amputated to save the life of the body. If the deteriorated portion does not respond quickly to the treatments, the doctors carefully and quickly cut it off. This is also what Jesus said He would do to the church In Revelation 3: 1-3. Jesus saw their works, but called them the walking dead. He called them to wake up or He would return like a thief in the night and they would be cut off (paraphrased). And in chapter 37: 11 the Lord spoke to Ezekiel that His children felt dry, cut off with no hope.
In verse 3, God asked Ezekiel, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I believe God was looking and asking Ezekiel if he truly believed that God was able to rise up these dry bones. Please notice that God did not send an angel to get a dry bone from the pile to recognize where it came from or if it believed its companions could live again! Ezekiel was an outside source sent to look at the inside. God showed him the heart of the valley. Its dryness was exposed. Its weakness and frailness exposed. Bones that laid bare with no skin for covering. No protection from the enemy. No muscles for moving together. No unity could be formed.
If we in the body are individually becoming dry and dead, soon the whole body is affected. Deadness and dryness, rotting is contagious. Ganged green spreads quickly. If we have back biting, gossip, offense, rebellion, pride, etc. in our heart it will spread if not exposed. God is a God who exposes darkness into His marvelous light. These sins infect the body and spread like cancer.
You begin to lose your unity as a body. You begin to get weak and frail as division creeps in.Without unity you begin to deteriorate and lose protective covering. Pretty soon your precious vital organs are exposed; the life source slowly begins to drain out. You become thirsty and hungry until there is no hope. You have been laid bare in the valley dead- in pieces.
God has been doing a rattling. He has been exposing the heart of His children, the body of Christ. There has been a sound of the bones coming together (verse 7). God is restoring unity and protection. He has started the healing process. He is putting down the scalpel for those responding to His voice, those children and members of the body who are letting Him reveal the hidden things, to those who are repenting and calling out to God to not be cut off.
Now God says in verse 12, “…O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.” It is time to take off the grave clothes. He has begun the process, but in verse 8 & 9 there was no breath from God’s Spirit. “I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.” The Lord has led some of us to examine spiritual strongholds, generational and those from our own decisions. He’s also cleaning up those who allow Him to work in their life. God is also trying to move in ministries and churches. A resemblance of life is appearing. But there is no power. No spirit inside them to live a victorious life. Now God is speaking, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” Verse 10 continues, “So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet- a vast army.”
I believe God is looking and getting ready to send His Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ in a way that many have not experienced. I feel He is tired of looking at parts of His body rotting and turning dead. We cannot defeat the enemy if we are the walking dead. This fresh move of the Spirit is open to those who want to receive Him. He will come and break down denominational strongholds, racial strongholds, economic strongholds, and gender strongholds.
He is calling us, the body, to stand together in unity. He is calling us to live with joy, peace, love, gentleness, faithfulness, kindness, goodness, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5: 22). The Spirit of God brings the call and gifts of God for our life. The voice of God is in the Spirit. The power of the resurrected Jesus is in the Holy Spirit. The power to march as mighty warriors against an already defeated foe is in the Holy Spirit.
God has a power source for us to tap into, but it is up to you to plug into the source, the Holy Spirit. He is gentle and loving and will never force anyone to come. When we are ready verse 12 says’ “I will put my Spirit in you and you will live.” We need to examine our hearts and let God reveal to us if we are just existing or really living day to day by the Spirit of God. If the Lord is revealing to you that you need the breath of God in a fresh or new wave of the Holy Spirit, come and receive your breath from God. The four winds are beginning to blow.
A MOMENT OF CLOSING PRAYER FOR YOU AS WE CLOSE OUR SERIES “A CALL TO:WAKE UP!”
In Ephesians 1: 17-20, “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit [the Holy Spirit] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him [the Holy Spirit] better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he [the Holy Spirit] has called you, the riches of his [the Holy Spirit] glorious inheritance in the saints, and his [the Holy Spirit] incomparably great power for us who believe (not just a belief in a God who exists, but to believe God). That power is like the working of his [the Holy Spirit] mighty strength, which he [the Holy Spirit] exerted in Christ when he [the Holy Spirit] raised him [Jesus] from the dead and seated him at his [the Holy Spirit} right hand in heavenly realms.”
Dear Christ Jesus in heaven,
I pray you lead us to know, to recognize, to spend time with the person of the Holy Spirit. I pray we move past a belief that you only died for us to be saved. You are the Savior. Hallelujah, you did not stay in the grave!! Help us to open our hearts to the one who came into the tomb to breathe the life of God back into your body. We have come to you, Jesus, and died to ourselves. We desire now to experience the life and call and power you intended to give us as you promised in Acts 1:4-5, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift (we chose to accept or reject it) my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Verse 8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” Lord we need to be enlightened to the Holy Spirit coming on us! What a difference life can be as the Holy Spirit falls fresh on us. Breathe Lord into our sleeping spirits and wake up the spirit of power to be mighty for the kingdom of God!
Amen.
