Gospel
Psalms 139:14-16
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Every human being was created in a unique way by God. Man is the special and ultimate creation of God. It was after man was created in Genesis 1:27 that in Genesis 1:31 God saw then that everything he had made was VERY GOOD.
I don’t know how you have been viewing yourself, but I’ve come here to inform you this day that you are unique. The universe needs someone like you, in particular for it to be complete. Without you on planet earth, certain things cannot be accomplished. You are precious and highly valued before God. God does not create anything without value. You are the “Masterpiece” of God’s creation.
In the New Living Translation, Ephesians 2:10 refers to man as God’s masterpiece. God created and designed you specifically to fulfill a unique position in His ultimate plan for the Kingdom on earth.
Why are you here? What is your purpose? Until purpose is discovered, life is meaningless. I don’t know what you have fitted yourself with the special design God has uniquely bestowed on you towards His Kingdom. You were created with a mission! There is a purpose for your life on earth!! You have a vacuum to fill in God’s scheme of things!!!
You may have made mistakes in the past. But do not worry. All you need to do is to desire to discover your Kingdom purpose and God will perfect it.
What is Kingdom Purpose?
This is your unique contribution to the Body of Christ, which drives you to be completely dependent on God and ultimately display His love towards His creatures through the expression of your specific and unique self.
God created you as a unique creature because you have a special and unique contribution, which only you can make. Your Kingdom purpose is much more than a career. It is a special commissioning given by God to you to make a significant difference on earth. Your career does not define your Kingdom purpose, but could provide you the platform to direct it. You need to discover your Kingdom purpose because when you discover you Kingdom purpose, you will be able to lead a life of lasting significance, fulfillment and Kingdom impact.
Simon Peter was a man who discovered his Kingdom purpose. In Matthew 4:18, Jesus saw him with Andrew, his brother casting their net into the sea. Peter is a career fisherman. He was married and must have had fishing as a means of livelihood. To have owned a boat means that Peter must have been a successful fisherman. However, catching fishes was not Peter’s kingdom purpose. He did not realize this until he met Jesus. In Matthew 4:19, Jesus spoke to him and his brother Andrew “--- Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”.
They hearkened to the voice of Jesus leaving their nets and followed Him. They were not worried about the returns of the day or even give any thought about how they will survive after leaving a career they were familiar with. In obedience, Peter discovered his kingdom purpose and was able to fulfill it. His first sermon on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:41 brought 3,000 (three thousand) souls into the kingdom.
Peter gave up his cherished career to be what God has created him to be.
Many of you are still clinging unto your earthly cherished activities, but the question is: “Where are you today?
Hear me this day ladies and gentlemen; “UNTIL YOU GIVE UP YOUR EARTHLY PASSION, YOU CANNOT EMBRACE YOUR KINGDOM MISSION”. Your earthly passion cannot exist side by side your kingdom passion. One must give way to the other.
The Bible asks in 2 Corinthians 6:14 “…what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?”
Luke 5:37 says:
“…No man putteth new wine into old bottles …”
Many people are in the church but have still not given up their old ways of life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “…If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold all things are become new:
Beloved, discover your kingdom purpose! Your kingdom purpose does not depend on the way people see you. God is the only one that knows you. Infact, God is continually looking for ordinary people who are willing to let him use them to make a difference for his kingdom. God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways.
How can I discover my kingdom purposes?
1. Give up your earthly passion and seek your kingdom mission.
Mark 1:18 “…they forsook their nets, and followed him.
2. Allow God’s truth to define your kingdom purpose. It is not the trend of events
or what others tell you that define your kingdom purpose, but the truth of God’s work.
3. Be faithful to God. The more time you spend with God, the more you learn of
His goodness and plans for your life.
4. Be courageous and strong in the Lord, Joshua 1:9.
Finally brethren, I challenge you today to invest in God’s kingdom in a way that will last long after you are gone. Be a contributor not a consumer. God is waiting for you.
